Profile:

A chemical technologist by training - a chemist among engineers and an engineer among chemists; thirty years in the food industry in various functions: chemist, factory manager, personnel manager; ten years in UNICEF in personnel management; lived and worked in UK, Israel, New Zealand, Holland, USA, Denmark.

Took early retirement and returned to London, played "Oblomov" for two years; took courses in photography and discovered not Cartier Bresson;took courses in drawing and life classes and found not Leonardo; spent seven years practising and studying shiatsu with a Japanese sensei which stimulated an all pervading interest in Japanese life, culture, arts and Zen Buddhism.

Twelve years ago happened upon a five day pottery throwing workshop in the City Lit. and never looked back. Studied with Dan Kelly & Jonathan Switzman in the City Lit and Pamela Leung & Kenny Menczer in Kingsway College; workshops with Phil Rogers & David Leach. Have made four working trips to Japan. For last eleven years I have worked full time in the Dartmouth Park Pottery in Archway, London.
